Reunited

We Are Family
Lady Gaga & Children

With the world being all sorts of crazy, perhaps the weirdest story of the week was the kidnapping of Lady Gaga's French Bulldogs. (Sorry CPAC, your no longer winning the crazy game. You are simply boring loons at this point for me.)

Gaga and her dogs have been reunited, this took me to my happy place. While it is unclear what the motivation was for the dognapping (I will be curious to find out) happy endings these days are always a welcome change of pace.

(CNN) The two French bulldogs violently stolen from Lady Gaga's dog walker have been returned safely, the Los Angeles Police Department said Friday.

A woman, who wasn't named, met the entertainer's staff and detectives at the Olympic Community Police Station with the animals at around 6 p.m. PT, the LAPD said in a statement.
"The woman found the dogs and reached out to Lady Gaga's staff to return them," the statement said. "The woman's identity and the location the dogs were found will remain confidential due to the active criminal investigation and for her safety."
The LAPD also updated the condition of the dog walker, saying he was "stable" with injuries that were not life-threatening.

Now More Than Ever

File This Under: Things That Make You Go Hmmmmmm...

Now More Than Ever: The History of Chicago is the unbelievable true story of the rock band Chicago

Spanning 50 years, from 1967 to the present day, it highlights a band that has sold over 100 million records and has never taken a year off of touring, still playing well over 100 shows a year.

Detailed are several stories behind their hits and a look at the way they dealt with both ups and downs on their way to becoming the highest-selling band of the 1970s and the second highest selling American band of all time.

Featuring interviews from band members both past and present, as well as those behind-the-scenes, the film shows Chicago as no one has ever seen them before.

GRAMMY-Award Winning Band Delivers Electrifying Live Show As Event's Leading Entertainment; Inspires Hope to End AIDS Epidemic

Inspiration is a theme this week, let's continue it. Shall we?

KC and The Sunshine Band’s mission has always been to inspire happiness through music. With uplifting, upbeat dance hits like “Shake, Shake, Shake (Shake Your Booty), “Get Down Tonight,” “That’s The Way I Like It,” “Boogie Shoes,” and others, it is no wonder they’ve been able to succeed. But on Monday evening at the Elton John AIDS Foundation’s 14thAnnual An Enduring Vision New York Benefit Gala at Cipriani Wall Street in New York City, the GRAMMY® Award-winning group shined their bright light on the crowd for a different reason – to help inspire hope in an end to the worldwide AIDS epidemic.

The event was hosted by award-winning CNN anchor Anderson Cooper and featured Ford Foundation President Darren Walker as a special speaker. KC and The Sunshine Band took the stage as the evening’s lead entertainer, performing well-known hits "Shake Your Booty," "Boogie Shoes," I’m Your Boogie Man,” “Give It Up,” "That's The Way (I Like It)" and “Get Down Tonight,” leading celebrity guests and attendees to get out of their seats and dance.

Harry Wayne “KC” Casey, the group’s lead singer, who lost a cousin to AIDS in the 90s, as well as many friends, said the disease has touched him deeply and personally. “I am passionate about awareness, prevention and am hopeful for a cure, because it is a disease which is preventable through education. I applaud the great work that Sir Elton John and his foundation has accomplished. The foundation has changed the global face of the disease by reaching out to patients, even at a time when fear and misunderstanding were commonplace. So much progress has been made on the fight against AIDS, but the research, patient-support and access to information must continue until a cure is found,” Casey said.

Michele Burns is an internationally recognized corporate and philanthropic leader who played an integral part in EJAF’s inception, serving as an Executive Board Member and Treasurer throughout the Foundation’s 23-year history. Robert J. Coury, Executive Chairman of Mylan, continues to be a visionary in leading the company into areas where it can make a difference, such as improving global health and helping to end the AIDS epidemic. Tracey Emin is a highly renowned and respected artist, who is also a fierce humanitarian and tireless advocate for human rights causes.

For Immediate Release: Margaret Cho

Photo: Austin Young
MARGARET CHO RETURNS TO “DROP DEAD DIVA” FOR SEASON 4 PREMIERE ON JUNE 3
MARGARET SET TO REPRISE HER ROLE AS KIM JONG IL ON “30 ROCK” MAY 17 AND 24
MARGARET’S BRAND NEW STAND UP SHOW CALLED “MOTHER” KICKS OFF THIS SUMMER
“CHO DEPENDENT” DVD AVAILABLE NOW

Los Angeles, CA - May 2012 - Margaret Cho is gearing up for one of her busiest year’s yet. On tap for 2012 is Cho’s return to Lifetime Television’s Drop Dead Diva, premiering June 3rd, a reprise of her role as Kim Jong Il on NBC’s Season Finale of 30 Rock, a hosting gig on her new show airing on the Food Network this fall, a brand new summer tour of intimate venues beginning August 11th in P-Town, Cape Cod and various other TV appearances.

Cho is back as “Teri” on the dramedy hit show Drop Dead Diva, now entering its fourth season. Drop Dead Diva is not only beloved on Lifetime, but by the many stars who have queued up to guest on the show, including Paula Abdul, Wanda Sykes, Rosie O’Donnell, Vivica Fox and Cybil Shepard. Season four’s line-up includes Brandy Norwood, Kim Kardashian, Serena Williams and John Ratzenberger among many other surprises.

In addition to Diva, Cho is set to appear on 30 Rock’s May 17 episode as well as the Season Finale, bringing back her hilarious gender-bending interpretation of North Korean leader Kim Jong Il. Cho-as-Il kidnapped Jack Donaghy’s (Alec Baldwin) new wife Avery (Elizabeth Banks), and seems to have made her his First Lady. How this will play out since the real-life dictator’s demise last December is anyone’s guess, but look for Cho to play TWO characters in the same episode.

Margaret is also confirmed to make guest appearances on CNN Showbiz Tonight, Monday, May 28, Watch What Happen’s Live with Andy Cohen on May 29, The View on June 1, Chelsea Lately on June 4 and The Talk on July 30.

Along with her acting roles, Margaret can be seen as host on the upcoming reality show Blind Dinner Party, airing this fall on the Food Network. Seven strangers, from totally different backgrounds, with very dissimilar views, come together to dine at what can best be described as the most dysfunctional family dinner you’ve ever seen.

Margaret mediates this experiment where viewers will find out if food can become a common denominator amongst very diverse people.

Not one to idle, Margaret is going to be kicking off her brand-new stand up show bringing audiences her unflinching brand of comedy called MOTHER. MOTHER offers up an untraditional look at motherhood and how we look at maternal figures and strong women in queer culture. It’s probably her edgiest show to date, filled with riotous observations on race, drugs, sexuality – gay-straight-everything in between, celebrity, culture, politics – nothing is sacred-least of all this MOTHER.

Me & Margaret Cho
MOTHER will be an intimate club & theatre tour beginning in August. First stop: The Art House in Provincetown, for a weeklong stint of up close and personal shows. The tour will continue into the fall, with all dates posted on http://www.margaretcho.com/

Also on Margaretcho.com are the most sincere, fiery and laugh-out-loud funny blogs you will find on the Internet. A must-read not only on her website, but as a three times weekly download from the Kindle Store, readers find out a lot about what’s going on in the mind of Margaret Cho via her insightful blog posts. If you still need a little more Margaret to get through the hot summer months, don’t forget to check out her latest DVD Cho Dependent . Written, directed and produced by Margaret, Cho Dependent is her 6th live concert DVD. Shot at the Tabernacle in Atlanta, GA, the DVD shares the same name as her Grammy nominated comedy album. The Cho Dependent DVD features songs from the album interwoven into the thought provoking stories she tells.
