The Night Before...

'Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house

Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse...

But Chucky was there, beware!!!

Monday Motivation

Nom, Nom, Nom
Cookie Monster

"Me Want Cookie!" - Cookie Monster

It's Christmas Eve and it happens to fall on a Monday. Thus what better Monday Motivation than cookies

Yep, Michael & Cookie Monster say indulge, like I did last night. "Yes" I confess I had red velvet cookies last night courtesy of my friend Scott to celebrate my Birthday. People you have to enjoy life and despite that I have lost 50 lbs and now have a rockin' body I dove in with reckless abandon and can't believe I ate a whole thing of cookies (with some help.) I consumed mass quantities of the decadent treat and I liked it!

Hey, unlike my furry blue friend Cookie Monster, who eats them all the time, this was a rare gluttonous evening for yours truly and it was worth every over the top moment.

Cookies, everyone, cookies - it's Christmas and it only comes once a year so give in to your inner Cookie Monster and nom, nom, nom...!

Nothing Says Christmas Eve Like...Katherine Heigl

Happy 10th Anniversary!
Katherine Heigl & Josh Kelley
It's Christmas Eve and what else did you expect here at Entertain Me other than to be thrown a curve ball?

A lot of you are most likely reading today's byline and are puzzled, annoyed or perhaps thinking WTF?! There are of course some of you not engaging in a volatile reaction regarding the divisive Ms. Heigl. Whatever your feelings are, that was the point of today's post, to mix them up this Holiday

Thus I bring you the image of Katherine and her husband of ten years singer Josh Kelley recreating one of their nude photos from days of yore. Ten years after all is a lifetime in Hollywood.

Katherine has sort of been on my mine of late as I stumbled across Unforgettable, a Fatal Attraction type movie she did with Rosario Dawson on an HBO free view that was given to me for whatever the F#ck reason. The movie was pretty forgettable, however I did think Heigl (and Dawson) were good.

Mic Drop! Have a great Christmas Eve!

PS Katherine, it looks like you have quit smoking, congrats!

"You Didn't Give Them A Chance"

Hello Everyone, we all know what today is don't we? Why it's Christmas Eve and the first day of Hanukkah. Yes, that's right peeps this year they both fall on the same day, which is pretty cool actually.

Which brings me to an E-mail I received the other day from my buddy Tom Connan, it goes something like this...

Hi Michael,

Hope you're well! As you may have noticed, I just released my new single 'You Didn't Give Them A Chance' and the music video is doing great on YouTube already.

I'd be more than happy to have a post about this on your blog.

I'm looking forward to hearing from you.

Cheers,
Tom Connan

But of course I will and just have. Thanks Tom for alerting me to your hot new song, oh and the look, that look you've got going on, very, um, edgy, not to mention sexy.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, I'm a giver! Let's kick off the Holidays with Tom's latest single "You Didn't Give Them A Chance."

Celebrate Below!

It's Christmas Eve, What Are You Doing?

Be Very, Very Quiet. I'm Hunting Toons!
Photo: Rhonda Bernstein
For those of you not in the loop, my Birthday is exactly one week before Christmas, "Yes" it is December 18th, "Hi" I'm Michael Shinafelt and I'm a Sagittarius.

I turned 50 this year. Yeah, I am a half a century old and still kicking ass! So how I am celebrating this evening?

Continuing my well earned status as a survivor of Generation X by celebrating my Birthday even more. It started last week with an awesome excursion to Disneyland courtesy of Rhonda Bernstein. With co-stars Eric Bernstein & Angela Simone.

Seguing into the actual date with my BFF Brittney Alexander at the legendary El Coyote. The place where famed Hollywood starlet Sharon Tate had her last meal.

And so it continues into Christmas Eve with Scott Jacobs. Featuring Wine & Cheese and Frivolous Fuckery!

Shout out to Erik Rimmer!

Simply having a wonderful Holiday Season!

Taylor Hicks Goes "Silent" For The Holidays

TAYLOR HICKS RELEASES NEW 'SILENT NIGHT' SINGLE
IN CELEBRATION OF HOLIDAY SEASON

‘In Your Time’ and ‘Under The Radar’ albums available now

Taylor Hicks celebrates the Holiday Season by doing what many other popular artists before him have done. His own version of "Silent Night" - all the popular people are doing it, peer pressure, peer pressure!

Taylor Hicks, the Alabama-bred entertainer who first won over the hearts of America by winning the fifth season of "American Idol," is making a lots of heads (and ears) turn with his inspiring version of a Christmas classic – just in time for the holiday season.

The million-selling recording artist has just released his stirring take on the standard “Silent Night,” which he says is very meaningful to him.

“I remember going to church on Christmas Eve and singing ‘Silent Night’ would just give me chills… All the lights in the church went dark. We would all sing softly together as we lit candles down the aisle. With the Nativity on the altar and being surrounded by my closest friends and family, it really made me feel the true spirit of Christmas – and still does to this day,” Taylor said.

“When we recorded the single a couple months ago, it was well after midnight. The studio was dark and we lit candles to help get us into that same spirit. What we laid down that night was very heartfelt, and I really hope the fans can feel that, too. There’s too much darkness in the world today – and my hope is that this song can shed some light into those dark places."

“Silent Night” has already become the number one streamed song on the weekly PlayMPE Chart for the Christian music format, and is also being worked to pop radio and Holiday-oriented stations. The single is also available digitally through iTunes and Amazon.

The singer is getting himself in the holiday spirit with his appearance in the Hollywood Christmas Parade over Thanksgiving weekend, which will air on December 11 at 8pm ET/PT on the CW Network. He will return to his home state by helping to light the Alabama state capitol tree in Montgomery on Friday, Dec. 4th. Taylor will then lend skiing talents to the Deer Valley Celebrity Skifest (#DVSKIFEST) on CBS December 13.

"One of my favorite things about the holiday season is having the opportunity to give back," said Taylor. "Toys for Tots is a wonderful charity that I look forward to working with every year. There is no better feeling than being able to give back and be a small part of making a child’s Christmas extra special."

As 2015 wraps up for Hicks, the singer can point to a very busy past twelve months. Hard at work on a new album set for release next year, the singer has also seen two of his previous albums released digitally for the first time - 1997’s In Your Time and 2005’s Under The Radar. Hicks has also made his mark on the culinary world as a partner in Saw’s Juke Joint, located in the Birmingham area. The eatery has become one of the most popular restaurants in the region for barbecue.

Christmas Eve: Apollo Run

It's Christmas Eve time for a song for the Holiday Season. Oh Holy Night Batman! On this evening before the day, comes Apollo Run with their cover of Mariah Carey's "Oh Santa" !

Since I am not familiar with the original version (I am an AMCAAC's type of guy) Translation: Avoid Mariah Carey At All Costs. This is quite "entertain"ing and you can see the fun poked at Ms. Carey in it.  Hey "Entertain Me" is the name of the blog and that's what I aim to do.

Levity to all and to all a good night....
