Saturday Sinema: My Big Gay Jewish Conversion

Like a conversion, hey!

Is Israel really the best place in the world to be gay? And is Judaism the one mainstream religion that accepts homosexuality? Meet Simon, a gay Catholic man from the West of Ireland on a quest to find out. Simon has never truly felt accepted by his own church, a problem that Matthew, his Jewish boyfriend from North London, has never had to face. Simon begins to wonder if the grass may be greener, and considers converting. He starts with a trip to the local Rabbi where they chat, among other things, about getting 'snipped', but Simon is itching to get to Judaism's homeland: Israel. He hops on a plane and first hits the streets of Tel Aviv, 'the gayest city on Earth', where he meets gay people from all walks of life, including gay soldiers in the IDF. Then he heads to Jerusalem, where the story here is very different. Extreme views towards homosexuality are rife and Simon encounters this at an uncomfortably close proximity. Then, it's crunch time. Faced with the facts, will Simon jump ship and become Jewish?

"American Nightmare"

Justin Utley

Talk about perfect timing...

“American Nightmare” is Justin Utley’s first single release since his activism work in Utah helped to ban conversion therapy, the discredited practice that aims to change a person’s sexual orientation or gender expression, in the state. “The win was not only cathartic but rewarding and empowering,” he says. Utah is now the 19th state to ban conversion therapy. Utley plans to take his fight to the other 31 states. “I’ll take my guitar wherever I need to in order to keep this conversation going and get this horrific, shame-based sham of therapy banned. It’s unethical, it’s disproven, and yet so many are caught in its web of lies, inevitable failure, and suicide.” He blames the lawmakers who blindly follow their party lines and church leaders instead of the will of the constituents who elected them. It’s one of the reasons he chose to shoot the music video for “American Nightmare” in a church (incidentally, the same church used for the Touched by An Angel series) and includes scenes with crowds in blindfolds, unable and unwilling to see the disasters that lie ahead.

Sinful Sunday

Rock DJ
Taylor Swift & Robbie Williams
Look, up on stage at Wembley Stadium in London! It's a bird & a plane, it's conjoined twins, no it's Taylor Swift & Robbie Williams!

"Yes" Pop Princess Taylor Swift brought Pop Bad Boy Robbie Williams up on stage during her Reputation tour stop in London. Honestly the main reason I am running this photo is because Robbie is in it. Not that I have anything against Ms. Swift, but I have a "everything" for Williams.

Maybe it's his Bad Boy swagger. Perhaps it's his extreme sex appeal. Or maybe it's the fact that he likes to get naked on camera. Whatever the case may be I have decided to make this a Sinful Sunday by indulging in lust.

Robbie Williams is hereby decreed my church today. Blasphemous much? "Yep" 24/7 - and proud of it.

It's time to worship at the altar of Robbie, so I'm off! Have a terrific Sinful Sunday and don't forget to take yourself to church!

Taco Tuesday

Any Questions???
Photo:
Michael Shinafelt
Today marks an Entertain Me first. That's right minions I have never acknowledged Taco Tuesday before on my little slice of the WWW...until today.

Why, you might ask? Because you don't shed 30 lbs, like me by eating them. Especially if they come from Taco Bell. So why celebrate it today? Well because I randomly came across the most ludicrous quote from Justin Bieber comparing "The Bell" to Church. What's that you say? Oh I believe in one of them, the one that actually is tangible - without further showboating here is the weirdest TT quote ever!

Is That A Taco In Your Hand Or Are You Just Happy To See Me?
Justin Bieber

"You don't need to go to church to be a Christian. If you go to Taco Bell, that doesn't make you a taco.” - Justin Bieber

I don't know about you, but I am now ready for many tacos stuffed with beef & cheese. I'm not really a vegan.

The Church Of Chris Pratt

Take Me To Church
Chris Pratt
It's Sunday, and this weeks inspiration comes from The Church of Chris Pratt. Gotta love this hunky, funny, sexy monkey of a guy. I know I do!

He recently took to his Instagram to inspire people out there to keep your dreams alive. Here is what he wrote while filming Guardians of the Galaxy 2 and Passengers back to back in Atlanta.

Don't you wish you were Anna Faris?!

"It's 3:20am. I got picked up for work at 6:45am yesterday. I'm not good with math, especially after being up for approximately 61 hours but I think I've been up for over 77 hours. I did a table read for Guardians of the Galaxy 2 this morning and then shot all day on Passengers and just now wrapped some 144 hours later. Weirdly both films, which i'll be shooting back to back, are being shot in Atlanta at Pinewood studios. We have the best crew. Total rock stars busting their asses. And the stuff we're shooting. My God. I can't wait for you to see it. I go back in in about 8 hours to do more. I am doing what I love. It doesn't feel like work. Even though it is. I'm having fun. I'm overcome with joy and gratitude. I felt like posting this to say to anyone out there chasing your dream... Fifteen years ago I felt the same passion I feel today, but I had very little opportunity. I had to hustle hard and go hungry. I had to eat sardines and figure out how to get gas money. And I never had a plan B. I never stopped believing. Ever. Don't give up. Apply constant pressure for as long as it takes. It will break before you do. Go get it."

Preach!

Taylor Hicks Goes "Silent" For The Holidays

TAYLOR HICKS RELEASES NEW 'SILENT NIGHT' SINGLE
IN CELEBRATION OF HOLIDAY SEASON

‘In Your Time’ and ‘Under The Radar’ albums available now

Taylor Hicks celebrates the Holiday Season by doing what many other popular artists before him have done. His own version of "Silent Night" - all the popular people are doing it, peer pressure, peer pressure!

Taylor Hicks, the Alabama-bred entertainer who first won over the hearts of America by winning the fifth season of "American Idol," is making a lots of heads (and ears) turn with his inspiring version of a Christmas classic – just in time for the holiday season.

The million-selling recording artist has just released his stirring take on the standard “Silent Night,” which he says is very meaningful to him.

“I remember going to church on Christmas Eve and singing ‘Silent Night’ would just give me chills… All the lights in the church went dark. We would all sing softly together as we lit candles down the aisle. With the Nativity on the altar and being surrounded by my closest friends and family, it really made me feel the true spirit of Christmas – and still does to this day,” Taylor said.

“When we recorded the single a couple months ago, it was well after midnight. The studio was dark and we lit candles to help get us into that same spirit. What we laid down that night was very heartfelt, and I really hope the fans can feel that, too. There’s too much darkness in the world today – and my hope is that this song can shed some light into those dark places."

“Silent Night” has already become the number one streamed song on the weekly PlayMPE Chart for the Christian music format, and is also being worked to pop radio and Holiday-oriented stations. The single is also available digitally through iTunes and Amazon.

The singer is getting himself in the holiday spirit with his appearance in the Hollywood Christmas Parade over Thanksgiving weekend, which will air on December 11 at 8pm ET/PT on the CW Network. He will return to his home state by helping to light the Alabama state capitol tree in Montgomery on Friday, Dec. 4th. Taylor will then lend skiing talents to the Deer Valley Celebrity Skifest (#DVSKIFEST) on CBS December 13.

"One of my favorite things about the holiday season is having the opportunity to give back," said Taylor. "Toys for Tots is a wonderful charity that I look forward to working with every year. There is no better feeling than being able to give back and be a small part of making a child’s Christmas extra special."

As 2015 wraps up for Hicks, the singer can point to a very busy past twelve months. Hard at work on a new album set for release next year, the singer has also seen two of his previous albums released digitally for the first time - 1997’s In Your Time and 2005’s Under The Radar. Hicks has also made his mark on the culinary world as a partner in Saw’s Juke Joint, located in the Birmingham area. The eatery has become one of the most popular restaurants in the region for barbecue.

Madonna Is "Burning Up!"

Madonna Shreds It!
"Oh, do you wanna see me down on my knees? Or bending over backwards, now, would you be pleased? I'm not the others, I'd do anything I'm not the same, I have no shame, I'm on fire" Madonna - Burning Up

Madonna is currently blazing across the world on her Rebel Heart Tour, earning rave reviews! You go your Madgesty

As we know Madonna is always working hard to push her own boundaries and one of those things has been to learn how to master various musical instruments that she had not a clue how to play at some point in her life.

Well the big "M" hits the electric guitar and shreds it to her classic "Burning Up!" This song happens to be my introduction to Madonna as a young man growing up in the Seattle area, when I am sure the electric guitar was not something in her repertoire at that point in time.

I can't believe it's been forty years since I first became a disciple in the church of Madonna !!!

Can I get an Amen?!
