Internet sensation Bon Qui Qui will bring her all new Gold Plated Dreams Tour to several lucky cities across the US in April 2016. Since being fired from King Burger (MADtv), Bon Qui Qui has worked many odd jobs and lost them all. In search of her calling, the employee with no filter made it her life mission to dominate the hip-hop world and recorded her first rap single called “I’ma Cut You.”She’s still her ghetto fabulous self but with a new career and a new weave. After recording and releasing three songs and two music videos, Bon Qui Qui released her debut album, “Gold Plated Dreams.”

Bon Qui Qui is the alter ego of MADtv’s Anjelah Johnson-ReyesThis original character arose from the MADtv sketch “King Burger” and followed Johnson-Reyes’ stand-up routine “Nail Salon.” Anjelah’s combined original Youtube views are over 100 million and counting.

Johnson-Reyes, along with classic cast members of the Emmy-winning sketch comedy show will reunite for the one-hour MADtv 20th Anniversary Reunion special (Jan. 12, 8/7c) on the CW.

Anjelah Johnson Presents: Bon Qui Qui’s Gold Plated Dreams Tour featuring Group 1 Crew promises to deliver a hilarious fun-filled evening. Rock Out With Your C#ck Out! It's "All Downhill From Here"

For all of you who love something other than pop music, myself in particular, this is the book for you.

It's February 1st 2014, I wonder if the groundhog will see his shadow tomorrow? If he does...It's "All Downhill From Here!"

In 2003, the AFI message board spawned a new webzine called Scene Point Blank. AFI were at the top of the charts, The Blood Brothers and The Locust were making waves in hardcore, and a young folk-punk band called Against Me! released As the Eternal Cowboy. The times have changed, but Scene Point Blank is stronger than ever, celebrating 10 years with All Downhill From Here, a new book that highlights some of their favorite material and includes insight on the wide-ranging cast of writers behind some of the webzine world's longer reviews.

Curated from 4000+ reviews and 200+ interviews, Scene Point Blank has put together some of their most popular items, some of their favorites, and their most memorable pieces into three formats: Kindle, eBook, and print, retailing from $7-15 depending on platform. Content includes interviews and features with Ian Mackaye, Henry Rollins, Larry Livermore, Evan Dando, Jacob Bannon, and many more.

Scene Point Blank isn't limited to punk and hardcore... They're proud of their varied content, ranging from blackened death to drone to hip-hop and even prog. They feel that music shouldn't be limited to genre and, in fact, discussing it in those terms is far too limiting. Their focus is on heavy, independent music, both the well-known and those just getting started.

After 10 years of online coverage, Scene Point Blank now offers All Downhill From Here to the public on a format they can carry with them and share,

Tom Goss + Macklemore & Ryan Lewis = "Can't Hold Us"

Tom Goss
Performer/Songwriter/Musician Tom Goss is back! After causing quite the stir with a strategically placed clock in the video for his last song "Make Believe"

Jump to that here! http://mshinafelt.blogspot.com/2012/11/make-believe-with-tom-goss.html

Tom brings us an acoustic cover of the red hot Macklemore and Ryan Lewis's "Can't Hold Us".

Being someone who is just becoming aware of their popularity and music, I asked Tom to expand on his love of them...Go for it Tom!

"I've found a new artistic lifeblood in watching Marcklemore & Ryan Lewis work. I have always loved hip-hop music but I have always been disappointed that rappers weren't using their influence to promote positive social change. In fact, I'm pretty disappointed with the whole industry in that regard. That's a big reason that I write music.
Macklemore & Ryan Lewis are more true to their artistic expression then any artist I have ever seen. Because of that, they are able to put everything they have into creating something authentic and wholly their own. As a result, they take the artistry to a new level entirely.
Watching them, and their success, has reinforced my own artistic drive. I understand that in order for me to be the best artist I can be, I need to be uncompromising, in my message, approach and execution.
Watching Macklemore & Ryan Lewis' "Otherside." It will change the way you see hip-hop and music videos. Hopefully, someday I can create something as beautiful."
Well Tom judging by your take on "Can't Hold Us" I think you just did...

Lindsey Stirling: "The Phantom of the Opera"

YouTube sensation Lindsey Stirling is perhaps the first – and only – artist in the world to blend classical violin, modern dance, and pop into to one amazing confection.

On September 18th, Lindsey will be releasing her self-titled debut album, Lindsey Stirling, coming off the heels of an incredibly successful presence on iTunes. With 10 original tracks, the album will showcase Lindsey’s signature violin-electronic-dubstep style – opening with “Crystallize,” her most popular piece. Lindsey has already sold over 300,000 songs, several of which have hit the iTunes Top 100 as well as the top of the digital electronic charts. Lindsey also has plans for a follow-up album of covers, putting her unique twist on everything from existing video game themes to pop music.

Are you ready? Here is the incomparable Ms. Lindsey Stirling...!

MS: I am so blown away by your take on “The Phantom of the Opera” theme song!

LS: Oh neat! I was so excited about doing it!

MS: Well I for one am totally in awe your talent, I've never seen anything like it in my estimation, ask anyone, I don't gush easily.

LS: That's so awesome! Thank you so much Michael!

MS: You really took to the violin.

LS: Well I was drawn to the violin as a kid, because ever since I was little I had this center stage syndrome. (laughs) My parents took me to all the free orchestra concerts in town, and it was very obvious to see who the stars of the orchestra were. (laughs) At the beginning of the concert the violinist comes out and plays an “A” note for the orchestra and I was like: “Wow, they are the stars of the orchestra”. I started taking violin lessons when I was five, because I thought they were beautiful, fast and fun!

MS: The passion when you play the violin is so overwhelming.

LS: Generally I do it so much, so I have to love it, it has never gotten old.

MS: You utilize it in other mediums, expand on that.

LS: Well in High School there were a bunch of guys who were in a rock band. I had a crush on every single one of them. They were all older than me, but I played the violin and I offered to play with them one time –  they had me play a song at one of their concerts. So, it's like oh my gosh, a dream come true for me because all of these boys are so cute! From there I ended up becoming part of the band and we went on this little rock band tour....I was sixteen, it's a really fun memory, but looking back we were not really very good. (laughs) But it opened my eyes to how the violin could do all different types of music. They all left on missions so I was left without a band and I started writing music to my favorite radio hits, like: Hip-Hop. I explored different types of mediums because I was kind of getting burnt out on classical. Writing radio hits is what got me onto “Americas Got Talent”. Then I decided I wanted to start writing my own music, music that I like, I started looking for producers – I always want to keep a fresh style so I do everything from rock to trance music, it's fresh and always new. Even with no vocals, people seemed to be entertained the whole time.

MS: Even with no vocals, with your “The Phantom of the Opera” video I was enthralled. Very few people have ever attained that.

LS: Oh, Thank You.

Farrah Burns "Mrs. Nice Watch"

Hip Hop Artist Farrah Burns first came to my attention upon writing a piece on pop singer Aiden Leslie and his hit song “Worlds Away” which featured Ms. Burns and her styling’s….

Rolling on with Farrah, she is now hitting it, with her latest “Mrs. Nice Watch” from her upcoming album the “ In Pursuit of Hip Hop” anthology laying it down on March 9, 2012.

Hey Farrah, let’s get to it!

MS: Glad you hit me up immediately when I contacted you.

FB: I’m all about the power of the now and wherever it takes me.

MS: Yeah, me too.

FB: I’m the kind of person that’s like, wait for it?…Now! (laughs)

MS: Well the first time I ever heard of you was on Aiden Leslie’s “Worlds Away”. That’s where I became interested.

FB: Sweeeet! That means a lot to me, it really does. Aiden’s and my first performance together was at Splash (New York) - I shut that place down! (laughs) I was all on top of the bar, dancing….I didn’t know where Aiden was, he didn’t know where I was. (laughs)

MS: (laughs) The next thing I heard from you was “Shotgun Wedding.”

FB: Oh, wow!

MS: It reminded me of Neneh Cherry.

FB: I’ll have to look her up.

MS: You don’t know her?! You guys have a similar awesome vibe, she’s Don Cherry’s daughter.

FB: I know who Don Cherry is.

MS: Well it’s a total compliment.

FB: Definitely checking it out.

MS: “Shotgun Wedding” was really reminiscent of her, I thought for sure she was one of your influences…so who are some?

FB: For me I would say Sade, Mos Def, Nina Simone, Anita Baker & Tupac.

MS: Cool!

FB: I didn’t grow up listening to hip hop, my first concert was Julio Inglesias.

MS: Oh, my, that’s a little too tame for me. (laughs)

FB: Yeah, well I had to go! (laughs)

MS: So, what’s up with you currently?

FB: Currently I just completed “In Pursuit of Hip Hop” it’s an anthology. Basically it’s a journey touching on Hip Hop and all the different elements, everything from mainstream to underground, hitting on all those different facets.

MS: How about “Mrs. Nice Watch”?

FB: It’s out right now! (laughs) and in the new year I will be shooting  the video for “Wax On, Wax Off”.

MS: Like clap on, clap off?

FB: Uh-huh, whatever works for you. (laughs)

MS: Name the biggest problem you ever want to have “In Pursuit of Hip Hop”

FB: The biggest? I don’t know what bank I want to bank with (laughs) Gee, I don’t know where to put all this money.

MS: We should all have that problem!

FB: Let me know what interest rates you have. (laughs)
