Hump Day & Chill

Queen Kylie

It's mid-week and time for a little Tension relief, thus what better way to Hump Day & Chill than to have a martini with the Queen of Tension, Kylie Minogue!

Ms. Minogue is after all the highest selling Australian female artist of all time. Her singing career is 36 years young. "Yes" Minions Kylie has been churning out hit singles for that many years and then some.

Nothing like holding court with a Queen is there? I thought not.

Her current hit album is titled Tension, in case you didn't know. Thus my Tension references right out of the box.

It's time now, grab yourself a martini (gin or vodka) and join Kylie in a Tension free Hump Day & Chill toast. We've made it to the middle and you've earned it!

Hump Day & Chill

Join Her?
Madonna

Since the Holiday Season is hectic I'd thought it's time for something one can truly Hump Day & Chill to. You've heard of Elf on the Shelf of course, how could you not?! Well today I bequeath you the most chill thing ever on this Hump Day December 13th 2023 - Ladies & Gentlemen it's Madonna and a Martini...Yay!

While I am not specifically sure what Madonna era this was shot in, I do know the location, this was shot at, the now defunct Small's Bar across from Paramount Studios (I loved that bar and had Martini's there quite often) for an issue of Vanity Fair.

Thus take a Holiday breather and join Madonna and myself for that matter in a Martini!

Do you prefer vodka or gin? I am a gin straight up two olive sort of guy...

Hump Day & Chill

Shaken, Not Stirred
Meryl Streep
During this downtime I've been thinking a lot about one of my favorite old Hollywood haunts Musso & Frank. I miss it, with it's great atmosphere, delicious food and amazing martini's

Thus today's Hump Day & Chill is brought to you by the martini, to be precise the Meryl Martini as concocted by one Meryl Streep during a performance of The Ladies Who Lunch in celebration of Stephen Sondheim's 90th Birthday.

Honestly I do think Streep is missing a branding opportunity here, she really should explore the Meryl Martini concept, I'd bet she'd make a killing doing it.

In the meantime, break out your own martini magic and Hump Day & Chill to one of these absolutely fabulous concoctions.

Make mine gin straight up, two olives please.

Thank You!!!

Hump Day & Chill

Don't Be A Drag, Just Be A Queen
Dita Von Teese
Since it is merely day two of 2019 I felt the need to Hump Day & Chill with something other than the usual flash of male skin. No, today is more of an alcohol sort of feeling, like a martini vibe all the way.

Usually I uncork some wine and rarely venture into hard liquor territory. That being stated I do like myself a martini from time to time of the gin variety. Recently I did imbibe in two of the delectable drinks during my friend Maresa's Birthday Celebration at the Saint Felix in Hollywood.

Oh martini it's been too long I must partake of thee more often than once in a fourth night.

So with some help from burlesque bombshell Dita Von Teese raise a martini glass with me on this second day of the New Year and Hump Day & Chill... Now to the real question of today, one olive, or two?

Hump Day & Chill

Red, Red, Wine...
Kristin Cavallari & Jay Cutler
Today's Hump Day & Chill is taking a departure from the usual exploitation of naked male skin.

"Yes" today we are celebrating two of my favorite Adult Beverages that I like to imbibe when I have had a rough shot week.

First and foremost, because it is the easiest to access, out of the starting gate and ready to rumble is Red Wine. Illustrated here by the cool as ice Kristin Cavallari and her manly stud of a husband Jay Cutler (yeah, I still had to have some stud flesh, it's Hump Day & Chill minions.)

One Olive, Or Two?
Jane Fonda & Lily Tomlin
Next up we have the martini, enjoyed by the timeless Jane Fonda on Andy Cohen's Watch What Happens Live with other fellow legend Lily Tomlin.

So Jane, is it a vodka or gin martini? I prefer mine gin, vodka is too obvious and easy.

What's your favorite Adult Beverage to Hump Day & Chill with? Do tell, not in a tattling way, in a confessional way.

Hump Day & Chill

Raise A Glass, Now Kiss My...
Angelina Jolie
Today I've got chills, they're multiplying...usually I have reserved today for a delicious side of man meat. But today I cam craving a different kind of "chill" the one belonging to the world of adult beverages. The martini to be exact.

"Yes" passing by landmark Hollywood restaurant Musso and Frank reminded me of days of yore when I spent time on the Blvd., Hollywood that is seeing movies almost every weekend at the Grauman's Chinese Theater and then sauntering down to M & F for a gin martini with two olives.

Gin was my jam, a vodka martini almost seemed like an amateur concoction and a two martini chill @ Musso's was a quadruple treat. That's correct minions when the bartender made them while you watched there was always an extra something more that he poured into a side decanter that made it equal two, thus two for one! Trust only a couple of rounds and my boots were made for more than walking.

So join moi and Ms. Angelina Jolie and raise a glass and "Chill" - because it's "Hump Day" after all...

For those about to rock, I salute you!

Spencer James Please "Don't Shake A Baby"

Spencer James "Don't Shake A Baby"
available digitally on November 4th

It's Martin and Lewis, with a little dash of Sinatra and Sammy Davis Jr. mixed in.
James blends both music and dance into his stand-up for a show that's
both anti "jobs" and yet pro "fat kids."

Yeah it's Sunday, November 2nd that calls for a martini.
Spencer James's comedy career started very early on. At eleven years old, he was the fat kid always getting picked on by school bullies and being ignored by every girl around. An army brat who moved frequently throughout the US as well as internationally, he used stand-up to provide comic relief.

James has entertained audiences all over the country. He
was the Winner of the 2014 World Series of Comedy in Las Vegas, Nevada and  "Best of the Fest" at the 2014 Burbank Comedy Festival. He was also recently seen on the Fox television show "Laughs".

A sort of "personal reveal", his comedy reflects a variety of influences - Bill Cosby's storytelling; Mitch Hedberg's one liners; Richard Pryor's vulnerability. He admires Bill Hicks, Bill Burr and Christopher Titus for the openness they all share. His comedy gives us his unique perspective on those things in life that he finds funny or weird - stuff like guys in wheelchairs buying ladders at Home Depot.

He discusses his warped reactions to first time relationships. No longer the "fat kid", he continues to feel its influence on his life and uses it to fuel his comedy.

Currently residing in Denver, CO, where beautiful women abound, he still finds it difficult to relate to them and this provides an endless stream of comic opportunities.
