Hump Day: Pink Touches Herself

On Wednesdays We Surrender The
Pink!
OK, I am sure that is news to anyone that Pink touches herself. Masturbation, it's a thing. But I stumbled across this really sensual and quite arousing cover of the song "I Touch Myself" by Pink last night on YouTube. Don't ask me how I found it, and I won't tell.

All I know is that is it a really awesome take on an already amazing song by the late great Chrissy Amphlett of the Divinyls.

So, we made it to the middle of the week affectionately known as hump day. You know what that means?

Let's get to it, check out the video below there's nothing to it. After all everyone is doing it, all the popular people are... .

D-E-V-O

We Are Men, D-E-V-O
DEVO The Men Who Make The Music / Butch Devo & The Sundance Gig

available on DVD and Digital Formats on August 12

Classic DEVO live in 1978-79, philosophy, and more!

Are we not men? Yeah Devo was one of my favorite New Wave 80's groups, from the wonderfully subversive S&M ditty "Whip It" to the perverted voyeurism song about masturbation "Peek-A-Boo" here for your flashback pleasure is more DEVO, no one can ever get enough of that noise!

The Men Who Make the Music combines concert footage from DEVO's 1978 tour with music videos and interstitials featuring a vague story about DEVO's rocky relationship with "Big Entertainment."

As for the bonus program, Butch Devo and the Sundance Gig, Jerry Casale says, "In January of '96, we closed Sundance Film Festival. We wore 20s style prison suits and dished out classic DEVO songs to an unsuspecting audience of Hollywood elite."

Take a look at my favorite Devo song Peek-A-Boo...

"So put your hands on your face
And cover up your eyes
Don't look until I signal"... Peek-A-Boo, Devo

R.I.P: Chrissy Amphlett "Pleasure and Pain"

Chrissy Amphlett
The 53-year-old Australian singer died at her home in New York City after a battle with breast cancer and multiple sclerosis.

My first exposure so to speak to the music of The Divinyls was a kinky little ditty bearing the title "Pleasure and Pain":

"Please don't ask me how I've been getting off, No, Please don't ask me how I've been getting off ,It's a fine line between pleasure and pain, You've done it once, you can do it again"...

Needless to say the Divinyls had me at the title. I rushed out and bought the "What A Life" album on, time to date my oldness, cassette, and loved it!

Of course that was sort of an indie/edgy/underground type of song, their biggest hit "I Touch Myself" a blatant ode to masturbation was huge...I guess because it did not involve the "Pain" part with the "Pleasure".

Chrissy had one of the best pop rock voices ever! Her delivery cut like a knife no matter what she was singing.

Not to be crass, but from the sounds of her death she was living the title of my favorite Divinyls song "Pleasure and Pain" let's hope there was some of the former mixed in with the later, her body is now at rest. Hey Chrissy, I hope you are still kicking vocal ass in the great beyond...!
