Why Not? Wonder Woman

Wonder No More
Gal Gadot
Yesterday I went to make a Trader Joe's run to the one located on Hollywood & Vine at the W Hotel. I emerged from the subway to find a barricade at the Pantages Theater with people already gathering for the Wonder Woman premiere.

It was quite the set-up. I was so glad I arrived before noon, can't imagine what the sidewalks would have been like later. At the time I encountered them they were not that full but the very front of the barricaded area was already teeming with WW fanatics. You'd have to be one to arrive that early.

Being the on the move writer guy I am I snapped a photo of a Wonder Woman wanna be and her Batman eagerly waiting for the sacred event.
Batman & Wonder Woman
After I hash tagged it and posted it to Instagram someone recognized WW and BM and tagged them to my image. Faux Wonder Woman approved and left a comment on my pic. Isn't the WWW grand?

Thus I leave you with an image of the actual Wonder Woman arriving at the premiere Gal Godot and my great pretender and her Batman.

Michael's Musings

Halo
Michael Shinafelt
With only three days left of 2016 could we please not have anymore beloved celebrity deaths? Yes, Grim Reaper I'm calling you out, enough!!!

2016 how do I put this to you delicately? Fuck off! I am ready for something new, and while there are reasons to tread with extreme caution moving forward into 2017 there are a few things I am grateful to be armed with going into it, that I reclaimed this past year.

Here on the 29th of December I am giving the ultimate kiss off to 2016, I'm so over you!

Debbie Reynolds passing away the day after her daughter Carrie Fisher died. So sad.

Ringing in the New Year early with Scott Jacobs last night via wine, cheese and German Chocolate Cake, was a welcome escape.

Even though 2016 was a pretty lame year, at least Donald Trump was not President.

Speaking of which, I am shocked that Orange Cosby didn't Tweet what a "Nasty Woman" Carrie Fisher was after her passing. She did call him out as a coke addict after all.

I'm grateful to have regained my sense of self this year, I'm going to need it in 2017.

Dear Rockettes, I advise you on not doing any high kicks during your performance at Trump's inauguration

The people I meet out and about everyday keep my faith in humanity alive.

Hitting spin class today, as you might imagine it is much needed.

Billy Idol said it best: "With a rebel yell more, more, more!"

Middle Creek exploded because of the Beaver Dams, sounds like innuendo to me.

Just because I grab a pole on the subway and gyrate, that does not make me Nomi Malone

2017 does not hold a lot of promise for anything in particular but trust me when I say there are going to be a lot of surprises. That my friends is as sure of a thing that you can count on. Let's hope they err more on the side of good than awful.

Get your last Thursday of 2016 on!

Michael's Musings

Naughty Guys Need Love Too
Michael Shinafelt
Buckle up peeps your in for a bumpy ride with this week's thoughts. Are you ready? OK, let's get to it grab a pussy there's nothing to it...

Disgusting thy name is Donald Trump and the people who voted for him.

Why has no one questioned whether the election was rigged or not? If Hillary had won I am sure the orange bitch baby  would be carrying on instead of stepping down with dignity and class like Clinton did.

They should make a movie about this election and title it: Revenge of the Deplorables.

11/9/2016 Dear Diary, it was 95 degrees or more throughout the Los Angeles area. In the immortal words of Paris Hilton "That's Hot."

Kentucky Muffin, it's a thing, watch Vanderpump Rules if you don't believe me.

They should play the song Tits & Ass from a Chorus Line when Melania Trump makes appearances as First Lady.

Below the line will blow your mind

I will never experience the trauma of couch butt

Sarah Paulson's horrific accent is the scariest thing on this season's American Horror Story "Oh my God!"

For all you straight men out there who voted for Donald Trump, congratulations you are now going to know what it's like to be f#@ked!

Today I think I will hit Subway, I feel the need to feed on something twelve inches. Sometimes I can be so ambitious.

Catch you later!

Madonna "You Don't Want To Be The Smartest Person In The Room"

Credit: Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott
"You don’t want to be the smartest person in the room; you want to be the dumbest in the room. You want to be surrounded by other thinking people who are going to say something that makes you think, 'Oh, my God, that's an amazing idea. Why didn't I think of that" - Madonna to David Blaine Interview Magazine

Wow I love this! Welcome back Madge it's been a while since you have been relevant and said something with your inner voice that was actually ineresting. Oh and by the way this statement is something I 100% agree with. It sucks being that person.

Don't get me wrong. When I was eighteen I will never forget being a young impressionable gay boy seeing Madonna's Burning Up video playing at club in Seattle, WA.

She was inspiring and edgy. Madonna has always been able to blend pop culture, artistry and commerce seamlessly throughout her entire career. Until the past few years...

Yep, she has faltered in a quite epic manner. Her last two albums have been really lame and the singles off of them have been yawn fests.

Her current chat with Magician David Blaine in Interview Magazine is inspiring. It reminds me of why I liked Madonna in the first Fucking place.

Her intelligence and savvy are on full display here:

"I remember having conversations with Keith Haring and with Basquiat about the importance of your art being accessible to people," she recalled. "That was their big thing—it should be available to everyone. It was so important for Keith to be able to draw on subways and walls. And Basquiat used to say to me, 'You're so lucky that you make music, because music comes out of radios everywhere.' He thought that what I did was more pop, more connected to pop culture than what he did. Little did he know that his art would become pop culture. But it's not like we really had discussions about the meaning of art. I remember hearing them talk about those things." - Madonna to David Blaine Interview Magazine

Welcome back Big M. You suddenly became important, interesting and relevant again by being honest and not desperately trying too hard.

You Go!
